why we're wearing these oven mitts

Hi Reader,

Welcome! The daffodils are blooming in the front yard. They look good in this metal pitcher, don't you think?

Defy the Gods is at the distributor's warehouse, at Plus One Exp in Philadelphia. I had a great talk with Tony last week, sorting out how distribution is going to work. They're a well organized team—they got this.

Plus One Exp also brought a couple display copies of Defy the Gods to PAX East last weekend. Maybe I didn't print enough of the special edition! Tony said people would see the gold foil-covered book, stop in their tracks and go, "This looks really gay. What's it about?"

That's a cover that's doing its job. Eternal thanks to Thalie!

Meanwhile in China, Boda Games is working on the prototype for Raccoon Sky Pirates. We'll get it in two to three weeks. Reader, there are a lot of components in this game. I stuffed every raccoon I could find into it. I can't wait to show them to you!

As part of publicizing the Kickstarter, I wrote a verrry short story about Raccoon Sky Pirates on Tumblr. It shows how the adventure starts, in the junkyard. If you're curious how Raccoon Sky Pirates manifest in other media, check it out. It features Robbi's portraits!

On the progress bar below, the Dumpster fire is trundling forward. We've got oven mitts on our hands and we're heads down, pushing it as hard as we can.

Once it gets going, the only hard part will be stopping it.

If you haven't already, please click here to join the crew and be notified when the Kickstarter launches!

Best wishes,
Chrys

Hi Reader, Welcome! Please, come in. Isn't it beautiful out? Let's sit on the back porch today with some fizzy water and lol at all the dandelions. They get so tall when they’re ready to let go. I got some great games recently in the mail: Zhenya's Wonder Tales by Jason Morningstar and Last Train to Bremen by Caro Asercion. Slavic folk tales, cozy tragedy, liar's dice and a deal with the Devil! This is my favorite part of crowdfunding campaigns—when a little box of magic arrives at your door....

Hi Reader, Welcome! Please, come in. After some whipsaw weather, spring has gotten determined here. Nothing's blooming in the garden yet, but five years ago, M rescued an orchid from a gutter, and now it's blooming for the first time. So I've put it on the table. I'm still thinking about everything I saw at GAMA Expo. So much waste. It's amazing what sells. It's discouraging how few ideas are in most of it. But it's a privilege to be in this business. I'm so glad I get to make fun things for...
