The raccoons are in the home stretch

Hi Reader,

We're into the last four days of the Kickstarter for Raccoon Sky Pirates!

And it's been a wild ride.

We hit the funding goal in just four hours. In the 26 days that followed, we unlocked:

  • Black Flag Friday, the expansion where you raid a big-box store right before Black Friday shoppers rush in.
  • A VTT package to play Raccoon Sky Pirates online.
  • The Haunted House expansion as an add-on for all.
  • The July 4th expansion, where you sail across the National Mall and raid the White House (what's the worst that could happen?)
  • The Christmas and Valentine's expansions. Save Christmas after Santa crashes in the junkyard, and leave the perfect gifts of trash for a suburban family.
  • and the big one...

Racoon Space Pirates!

Jump from planet to planet, seek out new trash and new Complications, and boldly go where no raccoon has gone before. Try to return to Junkworld without your spaceship exploding.

And now, with just a few days left, we're on the cusp of unlocking the final expansion...

Raccoon Time Pirates!

Hopscotch through history, stealing the best trash from every timeline, and try to make it back to your time in one piece. It's inspired by Time Bandits, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Doctor Who, Back to the Future, and H.G. Wells' The Time Machine—but mostly Time Bandits.

  • Voyage to the Caribbean to square off against pirate-pirates.
  • Dodge airships in Steampunk London.
  • Escape giant dinosaurs in the Jurassic.
  • Make the Trojan War go the other way.

But watch out! If the Disaster Track maxes out, you'll catastrophically rewrite your own density—I mean destiny!

Time's running out. Have you backed the Kickstarter yet?

The new box set has 60 Complications cards, streamlined rules, and new actions for all 18 playable animals.

You can also get the Junk Drawer—a box full of the best stuff from the Total Chaos Edition (RIP):

  • Portrait cards to inspire your vision of your trash animal!
  • Hex tiles to randomize your path across the neighborhood!
  • Oversized house maps drawn by KB+BA Architects!
  • Custom bottle caps!
  • Moar raccoon dice!
  • ...And a dumpster-fire meeple!

I don't know how many more Junk Drawers I'll get made after this Kickstarter. They're a hassle! So, if that stuff sounds good to you, hop on it. It all ends at noon Eastern on Halloween!

And thank you for your support!

Best,
Chrys

P.S. With time growing short, the Junk Drawer and other extras may soon be out of reach. So back the Kickstarter while you can!

Lin Codega's Over/Under Diary: Day 01

Hi Reader, Welcome! Please, come in. It's getting blowy out there. On the table, we've got flame-orange dahlias. The Raccoon Sky Pirates Kickstarter is doing well beyond my wildest hopes. But, for once, I'm not here to talk about that. I recently read Lin Codega's diaries of their experience playing Over/Under, the massive, 30-day game on Discord that started a year ago. Here's what I said about it on Bluesky: Me when O/U was happening: Man I wish I had time for this. Me after it ended: Man I...

Hi Reader, It's All-Raccoons Eve! Tomorrow at noon Eastern, assuming nothing wacky happens in the meantime, the Raccoon Sky Pirates Kickstarter will launch! I've just finished (whew) the free Haunted House Map that goes to everyone who backs in the first 24 hours. I hope you'll be one of them! Here's a low-res screenshot from the first floor. There's a second floor, an attic and of course a basement. It has its own Disaster Track and over a hundred cursed items to steal! If you haven't...

Hi Reader, Imagine it's after dark on the eve of All Hallows. Your car broke down, and now you're tramping through the woods in search of shelter. Ice-cold rain soaks through your too-summery clothes and into your bones. A sudden shock: Lightning outlines a looming manor house. Deafening thunder—or is it the manse's baleful façade?—roots you to the spot. Brambles choke its walls. Mazy gables top narrow windows from which fell figures stare out. And then...like an ill omen...a Chevy Bluebird...
